The Bangla Literature & Cultural Club brings together students of the Department of Bangla at Sonargaon University to celebrate the language, literature and living traditions of Bengal. Through festivals, performances and literary gatherings, members carry forward a heritage that stretches back a thousand years.
Founded in 2024 and advised by Nilima Sultana, the club is led by its students. From Pitha Utshob to Rabindra Jayanti, every event is planned and run by members — building confidence, teamwork and a lasting connection to Bengali culture.
One-timeThe Department of Bangla, Sonargaon University, organized the Fresher’s Orientation Program to warmly welcome the newly admitted students and introduce them to the academic environment of the department. The program provided an overview of the curriculum, academic regulations, co-curricular activities, research opportunities, and student support services.
AnnualThe Department of Bangla, Sonargaon University, organized Pitha Utshob to celebrate the rich culinary heritage and cultural traditions of Bangladesh. The festival brought together students, faculty members, and staff in a vibrant atmosphere where a variety of traditional Bangladeshi pithas were prepared and showcased. The event promoted cultural awareness, strengthened mutual bonds among participants, and inspired students to appreciate and preserve the country's rich folk traditions and heritage.
