It is my great pleasure and privilege to welcome you to the Department of Bangla at Sonargaon University.

Bangla is not merely a language; it is an integral part of our identity, history, culture, heritage, and intellectual tradition. The Department of Bangla is committed to nurturing this rich tradition while preparing our students to meet the challenges of the contemporary world.

Our academic programs are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Bangla language, literature, culture, linguistics, and literary criticism. We encourage our students to explore the works of great literary figures such as Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, as well as the diverse contributions of modern and contemporary writers and scholars.

At the Department of Bangla, we believe that quality education goes beyond the classroom. We therefore encourage students to participate in research, literary activities, cultural programs, seminars, workshops, competitions, and other co-curricular activities.
