- Dr. A. S. M. Tariq Iqbal is a distinguished legal scholar, dedicated educator, and visionary academic leader, currently serving as Professor of Law and Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Sonargaon University, Bangladesh. Complementing this, he holds significant administrative portfolios as Additional Director (Excellence in Teaching Learning) at the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell and Additional Proctor of the University, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to academic standards and institutional discipline. He earned his LL.B. (Honors) and LL.M. from the University of Rajshahi, one of Bangladesh’s premier centers of legal education. He holds an LL.M. with a specialization in Business Law from Leeds Trinity University, UK, exemplifying his advanced expertise in the field. He received his Ph.D. in Law from Islamic University, Bangladesh, reflecting his academic rigor and dedication to elevating legal scholarship. His academic accomplishments have earned him international acclaim as a Dignitary Fellow of the International Organization for Academic and Scientific Development, India, and a Lifetime Fellow of the International Society for Development and Sustainability, Japan. He is a passionate, innovative, and accomplished legal academic, with a career spanning nearly two decades of teaching experience in academia. He has previously held academic positions at Prime University, Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology, City University, Bangladesh Islami University, and Uttara University. These experiences not only enriched his pedagogical approach but also enabled him to shape institutional growth in diverse academic settings. As a prolific researcher, he has authored twenty-five research articles in peer-reviewed journals published by esteemed outlets across Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, UK, USA, Australia, Switzerland, and Brazil, reflecting his international academic standing. His contributions to legal studies are further demonstrated by four notable books titled Gender in Law: Bangladesh Perspective, Business Law in Bangladesh: Theory and Practice, A Textbook on Company Law, and Commentary on the Specific Relief Act, each of which has had a significant impact on both academic discourse and professional practice in their respective fields. Beyond academia, he is actively engaged in human rights, peace, and development initiatives. Committed to lifelong learning, he regularly participates in specialized training, seminars, workshops, conferences, and symposia, continuously refining his scholarly insight and professional acumen. In addition to his academic and administrative pursuits, Dr. Iqbal is enrolled with the Bangladesh Bar Council as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, which has added an elevated magnitude to his experience and expertise.
